Metal cutting methods
Cutting metal in the right way ensures high-quality work, allows you to get a product with the desired technical characteristics, reduces time and costs. When determining the most optimal method for cutting material, the following factors must be taken into account:- cutting speed;
- its value;
- quality of cuts and edges;
heating temperature of the metal workpiece.
Laser cutting
High-precision methods include laser cutting of metal. Cutting is done by exposing the workpiece to a laser beam. It focuses on a certain point on the surface, heats up and vaporizes the area of the material. When moving the working head along the desired trajectory, a part of a given size and shape is obtained.
The method assumes a small impact zone, which makes it possible to cut products with a thickness of up to 20 mm. The laser is optimal for shape cutting, in particular with complex contours, with a maximum cutting speed of up to 80 m/min. The edges of the final product do not need additional processing, the deformation of materials during operation is excluded. In addition, laser cutting produces a minimum of waste.

Plasma cutting
Cutting with an ionized gas mixture of ultra-high temperature (5000-30000 ° C) is a plasma cutting of metal. A plasma jet with a speed of 500-1500 m/s is created due to the action of an electric arc. The method is indispensable for cutting high-alloy steel. In comparison with gas cutters, plasma equipment creates a minimum heating zone, which allows you to quickly make a cut and avoid deformation of the base from overheating. Unlike mechanical methods of cutting ("grinder" or machine), the plasma torch cuts the surface according to any pattern. The result is unique, one-piece shapes with virtually no material waste.Used equipment: Satronik KL-3500, Crystal-GP, Satronik D-5000. Our machines provide excellent cutting quality for any conductive metal up to 200 mm thick.
Cutting metal with a guillotine
Mechanical cutting methods include impact cutting, or metal cutting, which is performed on a guillotine cutter. The mechanism is structurally an oblique movable knife. The device is designed for direct longitudinal and transverse cutting of metal in the form of sheets and strips. Guillotine cutting minimizes chip formation. The edges of the final product are smooth, and do not have burrs, notches.

Band saw cutting
Another mechanical method of cutting - band saw metal cutting - is carried out with a band saw in the form of a ring. It works on the principle of a hacksaw, thanks to the connection to an electric motor, when cutting the workpiece, it moves evenly. This method is suitable for a variety of steels up to 340 mm thick. It provides an accurate cut, creates a minimum of waste, and allows you to make complex products.

Gas cutting
Gas cutting of metal is based on its property to burn in a jet of oxygen. The material is heated along the cut line, after which gas and oxygen are supplied to the cutter, forming a burning jet. As a result, a wide cut with slags and sagging is created, parts with inaccurate contours are obtained, which requires their additional processing. This simple and affordable method is not suitable for all materials due to the significant heating of the workpieces.
